Morning Recap: Offense Slowly Improving, Graham Mixed in With Top Defense

AUTHOR: | IN: Eagles | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Eagles offense was the topic of discussion at the end of this morning’s practice, as the unit has been shaky throughout the first full week of training camp. At one point towards the end of the morning practice, cornerback Dimitri Patterson read a play perfectly as he jumped a route to pick off starting quarterback Kevin Kolb. Kolb said other than the later portion of practice, he felt that the offense had improved. “Well to be honest, today we were pretty sharp to start off. We had a few there at the end, and I think besides a couple [...]

Eagles WR DeSean Jackson Still Not 100%

AUTHOR: | IN: Eagles, Training Camp | COMMENTS: None Yet

DeSean Jackson is not quite back to full strength after returning from his back injury. The Eagles wide receiver was on the field today in full pads and participated in most of the practice. Jackson at one point returned to the field house briefly and re-emerged, then later appeared to pull himself out of a drill. Jackson spoke briefly with offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg before one one-on-one drills between wide receivers and defensive backs, then did not run any routes during that portion of practice. Jackson was back in action moments later during 11 on 11 play between the offense [...]

Eagles Defense Still Answering Questions

AUTHOR: | IN: Eagles, Training Camp | COMMENTS: None Yet

Coming into this year’s training camp, there were many questions to be answered on the defensive side of the ball. Would rookie defensive end Brandon Graham start across from Trent Cole on opening day? Would Ernie Sims be the starting weak side linebacker? Would Moise Fokou hold onto the top spot on the strong side? Could Nate Allen play at a high level as a starting Free Safety in his rookie season? Would Ellis Hobbs step up his play as a starting corner across from Asante Samuel? So far, it looks something like this: maybe, yes, probably not, quite possibly [...]

Eagles Enjoy A Safe, Successful Flight Night

AUTHOR: | IN: Eagles | COMMENTS: None Yet

At its core, Eagles Flight Night is not much more than a glorified football practice.  On its surface though, it’s a dazzling spectacle that offers many fans their first chance to see the Eagles.  Tonight, it also gave many players their first chance to run out of the tunnel at Lincoln Financial Field in an Eagles uniform.  The excitement of both the fans and newcomers was palpable at field level. To kick off the festivities, the 2010 cheerleading squad took to the field to perform for the more than 31 thousand fans in attendance.  After an extended dance number, the [...]

Questions For The Beast: NY Giants

AUTHOR: | IN: Eagles, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

One of the great parts of writing for the Fansided Network is having the chance to work and interact with all the other fan site writers. Ryan and I had to chance to answer some questions for the NY Giants fan site GMenHQ. We put together some questions to bounce back to Andrew that we though Eagles fans would like to know about our New York rival Will Perry Fewell change the defense?  What can we expect to see? He already has changed it. But don’t expect a Tampa-2 either just because that’s what he had with Buffalo, expect multiple [...]

Morning Practice Recap

AUTHOR: | IN: Eagles | COMMENTS: None Yet

After struggling a bit in this morning’s practice, Kevin Kolb put together a few nice plays in a row, getting rid of the ball quickly to Brent Celek over the middle and LeSean McCoy in the left flat.  The Eagles running back showed off his pass catching skills in this morning’s practice, hauling one in over the middle of the field as well. Riley Cooper continued to make big plays down the field, catching a bomb from Kolb.  That said, the defense didn’t seem to be pushing too aggressively in what really seemed to be more of a walkthrough than [...]
