DeSean Jackson Injured on Helmet to Helmet Hit, Will Not Return

Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson took a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit from Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson going over the middle to make a catch.  Jackson was down on the field for approximately five minutes before being helped to his feet and walked directly to the tunnel with assistance from two trainers.  The Eagles said Jackson has a head injury and will not return today.

Robinson was also injured on the play and stayed down for a similar amount of time before being taken directly to Atlanta’s locker room.

Jackson had two first quarter touchdowns on a 31-yard run and a 34-yard reception, breaking out after a couple of slow games.  There is no official word on his return, but as Jackson appeared to be knocked out on the field, any return is extremely unlikely.

The Eagles lead the Falcons 14-0 with 12:22 left in the 2nd quarter.
