Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5) at Washington Redskins (5-7) (1:00, FOX): The Redskins are no threat to the Eagles as far as playoff hopes are concerned, so root for Washington to deal Tampa Bay its sixth loss of the season. Also, if Washington wins out, the fourth round pick the Eagles have from the Donovan McNabb trade becomes a third round pick. Philadelphia also owns a sixth-round pick from Tampa Bay, which will be a higher pick with each game the Buccaneers lose.
Green Bay Packers (8-4) at Detroit Lions (2-10) (1:00, CBS): It’s a longshot, but a Lions win would be terrific for the Eagles. Philadelphia can’t win a tiebreaker over the Packers, who are second in the NFC North, and the two teams could be competing for a wild card spot if the Eagles lose in New York next week.
Atlanta Falcons (10-2) at Carolina Panthers (1-11) (1:00, FOX): It’s a bigger longshot than the Lions against the Packers, but a Panthers win would be in the best interest of the Eagles, since the Falcons are competition for a first-round bye or home field advantage should the Eagles win out.
Seattle Seahawks (6-6) at San Francisco 49ers (4-8) (4:05, FOX): The Eagles beat the 49ers, so a San Francisco win improves the Eagles’ strength of victory. Therefore, root for San Francisco in this one.
St. Louis Rams (6-6) at New Orleans Saints (9-3) (4:15, FOX): New Orleans is competition for Philadelphia for either a wild card spot or a first round bye, depending on what happens when the Eagles play the Giants and the Saints play the Falcons. Therefore, root for the Rams to pull an upset.
New England Patriots (10-2) at Chicago Bears (9-3) (4:15, CBS): Since the Eagles could compete with the Bears for a bye or a wild card spot, root for the Patriots to deal them their fourth loss of the year.
