Lockout Watch 2011

The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals failed to render a verdict again today in the stay of Judge Susan Nelson’s ruling against the ongoing NFL lockout. The appellate court’s clerk has released a statement saying that an “imminent decision” is not likely.

Technically, the court could rule on the stay any time prior to June 3rd – effectively either ending the lockout or keeping it intact until the owners’ appeal can be tried and decided in court. However, if the three-member panel fails to make a decision sometime before this Friday afternoon, it would be safe to assume that they will not rule on it at all. The stay – and the lockout – would remain in effect until the end of the appeal trial, no earlier than the end of June.

As always, ITI will keep you posted should any new developments arise.
