Well, this will pretty much kill any of the drama surrounding Michael Vick’s status this week against San Francisco.
“I think there’s a 100 percent chance I’ll be out on the field this weekend,” Vick told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Andy Reid, meanwhile, tried to curb the enthusiasm surrounding Vick’s availability, saying that he will need to be near full health in order to take the field.
“If he can’t squeeze the ball 100 percent or is in jeopardy of being injured further, we’re not going to put him in there,” Reid said.
Translation: Did you see Mike Kafka on Sunday? Jesus. Everyone knows Vick is going to play, but what’s the point of committing to that now?
And now that it appears almost certain that Vick will in fact make his start, the only thing left to worry about is completing passes, blocking, running the football, adequate linebacker play, tackling, excecuting in critical spots, efficient coaching, etc.–you know, all those little details they seemed to overlook last week.
