Okay ladies and gents.   It’s well documented that I haven’t been having the greatest year thus far with respect to bets on the Eagles.  Vegas has made a LOT of money on people like me that have been riding them all year long and hoping they’d get it together.  I’m off to a 1-3-1 start, and it’s time for both myself and the Eagles to turn things around. Ah, it was a crisp autumn Monday evening at FedEx Field. Michael Vick led the Eagles into Washington in hopes of avenging an early season loss to old friend Donovan McNabb. And avenge they did. You may recall Micahel Vick’s signature game as NFL quarterback. He passed for 333 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 80 and running in another two scores to help his team to a 59-28 massacre of the Redskins. It was glorious. DeAngelo Hall is a jackass. He’s also a top playmaker in the secondary of an improved Redskins’ defense. He’s also now questionable for tomorrow’s game after suffering an apparent knee injury. He’s been added to an injury report that already includes the likes of Chris Cooley, Tim Hightower, Anthony Armstrong, and Phillip Buchanon. Something to keep an eye on as game time ticks closer.

We are all familiar with the Eagles’ early season struggles. Interestingly, moost of the ire from the fans seems directed at the coach and porous defense, not the quarterback. That’s saying something when you consider that over last decade, if the Eagles lost, for whatever the reason, the finger was always pointed at one position–quarterback. Still, Michael Vick shouldn’t get a free pass here. Well, it took merely an hour to squelch the Dawkins rumor. Despite Adam Schefter’s suggestion of a Dawkins return, that’s all it is–a suggestion. Garry Cobb took to Twitter and reported the speculation as truth, which stoked the fire. It appears, however, there is no such deal, nor was one ever close. Ike Reese took to Twitter to assure fans it ain’t happenin’. Meh. It was fun to dream.

Could Brian Dawkins be coming back to Philly, along with Denver linebacker D.J. Williams? Wild thought, right? Though as unlikely as it seems, Twitter is in an uproar this afternoon after Adam Schefter tossed out the idea of the Eagels sending a mid-round pick to Denver for Dawkins and Williams. While I wanted to initially dismiss the idea as ridiculous, it makes sense. A lot of sense.
