Dan Connor to Visit Cowboys, What the Hell is Going on With Free Agent Linebackers?

Remember earlier in the day when Pete Prisco claimed it was a virtual lock that the Eagles would sign former Penn State linebacker Dan Connor?

Well, Prisco might have had the right division…but the wrong team.

There’s still plenty of time for the situation to play out, but Connor will be visiting the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday–not the Eagles.

The initial reaction here? Frankly, who cares?

Nobody will be crushed if Connor doesn’t land in Philadelphia. In fact, many people would view it as a positive development. Maybe it means the Eagles really are interested in a more high profile player like Curtis Lofton or Stephen Tulloch.

Yeah, probably not.

At any rate, it’s not all the surprising that the Eagles haven’t pursued any free agents at this point, but it is a bit peculiar that there really isn’t even that much in the way of speculation at this point regarding the aforementioned players. Stay tuned.
