The Eagles have made their first official move of the day just hours before free agency opens.
The Eagles announced moments ago that they have come to an agreement with RT Todd Herremans on a three-year extension that will keep him in Philadelphia through the 2016 season.
Adam Caplan reports the deal is worth $21 million in new money, with $11 million in guarantees. His current contract had two years remaining, so the deal has been essentially upgraded to a five-year, $25.8 million deal.
“We are excited to be able to sign Todd to a new contract,” Eagles head coach Andy Reid said through a team statement. “Todd’s intelligence, toughness, durability, and leadership are second to none. Very few players in the NFL can play at an extremely high level at both the guard and tackle positions and Todd has done that for us. He has been a big part of the success of our offense over the last several years.”
Good move. Now keep ‘em coming down there at NovaCare.
