When the 2-8 Carolina Panthers visit Lincoln Financial Field on Monday night, they’ll do so as a mess of a team that has failed to meet expectations. They’ll do so as a team that can’t sustain offense, one that makes critical defenses lapses at the worst moments, and as one with a coaching staff that will be shown the door at season’s end.
Does any of this sound familiar?
So with that in mind, perhaps the biggest indictment of all is that the mess that is the 2012 Carolina Panthers are favored (from anywhere to 2-3 points) over the Eagles tomorrow night.
The Eagles have lost six straight. LeSean McCoy is out, Nick Foles will start, and, yeah, there’s that whole matter of a heartless defense that’s rapidly regressed over the past month, but this is a new low.
Then again, the Eagles are the worst team in the NFL against the spread this season, posting a 1-8-1 record.
