Sources: Eagles Will Interview Falcons Offensive Coordinator Dirk Koetter

As the Atlanta Falcons prepare for their playoff opener at home in two weeks, it appears that their offensive coordinator may be a busy guy during the bye week. FOXSports.com’s Alex Marvez reports that Dirk Koetter will interview with the Eagles, Chiefs, and Browns.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said at an afternoon press conference that the team has yet to schedule any interviews but that the process could start as early as today.

Koetter has received a lot of credit for helping Matt Ryan reach new levels of success in 2012. Ryan threw for 4,719 yards and 32 touchdown passes this season on his way to leading the Falcons a 13-3 record and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The 53-year-old, who has previous head coaching experience at Boiste State and Arizona State, also served as an offensive coordinator in Jacksonville from 2007-2011. Whether or not Koetter emerges as the Eagles’ top target remains to be seen, but it seems a virtual certainty that Koetter will land somewhere as a head coach next season.
