The Eagles may be in a state of transition as former Oregon head coach Chip Kelly brings some variation of his high octane offense to Philadelphia. But even with questions along the offensive line, at quarterback, and in the secondary it appears that confidence in the team’s long term prospects are on the rise with the hire of Kelly.
In the immediate wake of his hire, Vegas has moved the Eagles’ odds of winning Super Bowl XLVIII from 30-1 to 22-1, a fairly significant increase given the team has made no alterations to its personnel. That’s a lot of confidence in a coach that has no prior NFL experience. As for his former emplyer, the University of Oregon, the Ducks saw their odds of winning next season’s BCS Championship grow a little longer. The team was previously installed as at 6-1 odds to win a title, but have since moved to 9-1 odds.
