The Eagles may already have the long term solution at quarterback on the current roster, but such an assertion would defy conventional wisdom. The more likely scenario is that such a player could be added via during next year’s offseason, or perhaps during the early rounds of this April’s NFL Draft.
One such player who seemingly has the tools to manage Chip Kelly’s high octane offense is Florida State quarterback E.J. Manuel who checked with a solid performance this past weekend at the NFL Scouting Combine held in Indianapolis.
While there’s no chance the Eagles would take Manuel with the fourth overall pick, he should be available when the Eagles make their second pick.
The 6’5″ quarterback had the second-fastest 40-yard dash among quarterbacks, coming in with a solid 4.65 mark. He was also consistent throwing the football.
Here’s a look at Manuel at the combine.
