Preseason Schedule Released

Here it is, the Preseason schedule! The Eagles play 3 teams that did not make the playoffs last year and have ZERO nationally televised games, which surprised me at first because I thought Chip Kelly’s innovative scheme would get the Eagles at least one nationally televised game. My question going into the preseason was answered and I got the answer I thought I’d get. The Eagles will NOT be playing the Cleveland Browns this year and I believe it’s because of the bad blood between the teams and the feuds that occurred between Jeff Lurie and Joe Banner. Listed below are the Eagles opponents and what week they will play them, but the times for the games have not been released yet. So without further adieu, here is the Eagles preseason schedule!

Week 1:  vs New England Patriots: This is the most intriguing matchup of them all. Chip Kelly’s first game as the Eagles Head Coach is at home and against Bill Belichick, two coaches that run very similar offensive schemes. Like I said, this matchup will be a fun one to watch.

Week 2: vs Carolina Panthers: Chip Kelly starts out on  home front with a game at home against the Panthers. The Panthers are a young team filled with talent and the Panthers management is putting a lot of pressure on Ron Rivera to lead the Panthers to the playoffs this year. This will be a fun one to watch.

Week 3: @Jacksonville Jaguars: The biggest headline to me in this game is Chip Kelly vs Gus Bradley. This off season, the Eagles were very close to hiring Gus Bradley, but opted for Chip Kelly instead. This game will hopefully be a game where the Eagles starters can begin to build confidence heading into the regular season.

Week 4: @ New York Jets: In this game the Eagles defense will look to build a lot of confidence because they will have many opportunities to for interceptions when Mark Sanchez is in the game. This is game is also the first time the Eagles will face off against their former offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, so the Eagles know they don’t need to defend against the run.

I really like the way these game are scheduled because the Eagles play against three mediocre teams heading into the season and they can use those games to gain confidence and build a bit of momentum heading into the season which can only help.
