The Philadelphia Eagles wrapped up training camp yesterday on a rather somber note. Former first-round wide receiver Jeremy Maclin left practice early after a non-contact injury to his right knee. Shortly after, the horrible truth was realized — he had torn his ACL and will miss the entire 2013 season (via ESPN.com).

This is terrible news for not only the Eagles, as they were intending to use Maclin heavily this year, but for Maclin, himself — he was entering a contract year. With the loss of Maclin, Riley Cooper figures to step in alongside DeSean Jackson in a starting role for now. Let’s take a look at some of the news regarding this tragedy and some other happenings from Eagles’ training camp.

Long-time Eagles quarterback and former first-round selection Donovan McNabb is set to retire as an Eagle on Monday according to ESPN.com.

LehighValleyLive.com has some interesting quotes from the Eagles offensive line regarding their anonymity. The article also contains some other interesting tidbits from the Eagles’ training camp.

This post from PhiladelphiaEagles.com asks the next question after the Maclin injury, “How will the team handle the lack of depth?” This is a must-read for any Eagles fan as the team goes forward into the 2013 season.
