The Eagles 33-27 Monday Night victory definitely caught the attention of the talking heads around the league. The Eagles were in the basement of most of the power rankings around the league prior to last night. While it’s important to not put too much weight into these rankings, it is a good barometer for how people around the NFL feel about the team. Here is the recap of some of the more popular rankings:

  • ESPN:  14th (from 25, +11) –  Michael Vick was an effective caretaker of the read-option Monday, running 41 zone-read rushes. Philly’s 245 zone-read rush yards were the most in a game in the past five years.
  • PFT: 5th (From 26, +21) - Here’s a shock — the high-gear, full-time, no-huddle offense can build a lead, and it has trouble holding a lead.
  • CBS: 15th (From 10, +15) - Chip Kelly sure has brought excitement to the Eagles offense. It is fast, fun and explosive. Can they sustain it?

Great to finally see some positive buzz surrounding the Eagles. The Chip Kelly era is off to a great start.
