Donovan McNabb Gets His Number Retired, But Not Before Taking Shot at Kelly’s Offense

This guy can’t help himself, can he? Prior to having his number retired at a halftime ceremony on Thursday night, Donovan McNabb had some interesting things to say about the much hyped Chip Kelly offense, which is terrific for all of us out here dying to hear what McNabb has to say.

In an interview with CSNPhilly.com’s Reuben Frank, McNabb took a shot at Kelly’s offense explaining that “It’s just a fad.”

Some would argue that the game has simply evolved, but not the case says McNabb.

“I enjoyed the West Coast offense, I enjoyed the no-huddle and two-minute drill we ran, but I’m not trying to run 90 plays in a game.”

Despite a sloppy and turnover filled effor from the offensive unit in last night’s 26-16 loss, the Eagles’ offense has gained yards with ease through three games, which is particularly impressive when you consider a player of Riley Cooper’s ilk is a parting of the starting unit.
