Michael Who? Nick Foles Made A Statement Today!

John Geliebter-USA TODAY Sports

If it weren’t for the one game Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Nick Foles’ lost against the Dallas Cowboys on October 20th, many people would go all out for Nick Foles. There is a sense in the back of most folks’ mind that he isn’t that good. That he had just gotten lucky in Oakland with 7 touchdown passes. Or with a second game against the Green Bay Packers with three touchdown passes and nearly three hundred yards thrown. But this is the NFL. The “Cream of the Crop” of football players across the country. Maybe someone can get lucky twice in a row but not three. Not in the NFL.

Foles was not lucky today, he threw with pinpoint accuracy and 298 yards. That isn’t luck. He threw with decisiveness. No touchdowns thrown today but he put his team in position to win and take sole possession of the lead in the NFC East. The Redskins are done thanks to Foles. They will be formidable next season. The Giants . They may or may not come back next season. The Cowboys aren’t done on paper but if history is any indication they’ll be out soon.

Today Nick Foles came to win. He came to make a statement. He came to take the Philadelphia Eagles to the Playoffs. He came to take his team to the Super Bowl.

I would have liked to see Foles sync up with a WR for a passing TD. However 17 for 26, 298 Passing Yards, 47 Rushing Yards w/ a TD, and zero interceptions…well can’t complain about that. They are looking better each week. If everyone stays healthy they could make a good run deep into the playoffs.
