Something has happened to the Philadelphia Eagles since last year. The obvious is of course the winning record and leading the NFC East. Albeit a weak NFC East but leading nonetheless. Philadelphia Eagles’ Head Coach Chip Kelly came to town after an interesting courtship. And after the first few games doubts started to creep into some fans’ heads. And let’s not forget the unknown timeout rule. Sure he should know all the rules but most were willing to give him a pass. After all it was only his second game in the NFL.
But has anyone noticed something that is missing? The pettiness and complaining from last year. Jason Babin was unceremoniously let go with five or six games left in the season. A month earlier Former Defensive Coordinator Juan Castillo was fired. The entire team was a complete mess. Has anyone heard Philadelphia Eagles Wide Receiver DeSean Jackson complaining about not getting the ball? Do you hear anyone complaining about Philadelphia Eagles’ Wide Receiver Riley Cooper? He created a mess for himself earlier this year. Yet he is a go-to guy for Philadelphia Eagles’ Quarterback Nick Foles. Has anyone heard complaints from the Eagles’ Defense?
No, you have not. Because Chip Kelly doesn’t deal in or with pettiness. He doesn’t major in the minors as the saying goes. He deals in winning. He deals in developing the players he has. He has created a true team mindset in the Philadelphia Eagles. They are too busy focused on winning and playing as a unit to worry about themselves individually. Chip Kelly has been perfect for the Eagles. Look for them to make to be contenders for years to come.
