It’s never too early to start the discussion about the NFL Coach of the year. At least I don’t think so with the amount of evidence there is before us. I am writing about Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Chip Kelly. This time last year the Eagles Faithful were praying for the end of the season. Just to stop the bleeding in hopes that next year would be mildly better. The offense looked terrible. The defense looked listless. Each week brought more and more misery.
Eleven games into the season and not only is it better; there is talk of playoff contention. It is a real possibility for the Eagles to win the NFC East Division. The offense is hitting on all cylinders. The defense improves with each game. There is excitement in the air with talk of he Eagles. They have a new Quarterback that has gotten everyone’s attention. His passer rating is leading the NFL. The wide receivers are rocking the house.
This is a direct reflection of Chip Kelly and his leadership. He is unflappable. He is humble. He is driven. His team respects him and follows his lead. He is using the talent he has to the maximum and getting maximum results. Not sure what the future holds at this point. But regardless of the outcome of the season, Chip Kelly has righted the Eagles’ ship. There is hope again.
