Who Will Win The Eagles / Lions Game?

The Philadelphia Eagles could face their toughest challenge yet this week against the Detroit Lions. Detroit Lions Quarterback Matthew Stafford has one of the strongest arms in the NFL and he has one of the best wide receivers in the league. Also known as Detroit Lions Wide Receiver Calving Johnson. Some know him as Megatron. Let’s hope the Megatron persona doesn’t show up this Sunday. Even if the Philadelphia Eagles Cornerbacks or Safeties can cover Megatron, there is the threat of Detroit Lions Wide Receiver Kris Durham. At six foot six inches he poses a second passing threat.

The Philadelphia Eagles main defensive concern is their secondary. Philadelphia Eagles cornerbacks Cary Williams and Brandon Fletcher have improved their game this year. Williams and Philadelphia Eagles Safety Nate Allen intercepted Carson Palmer last weekend. Let’s hope Williams and Fletcher can disrupt routes at the line which will give Allen time to react to Stafford’s pass attack.

Here is my take:

Foles is going to have his hands full facing Detroit Lions Defensive Tackles Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley. With Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Chip Kelly’s hi powered offense it could keep those two at bay. Foles will have to get rid of the ball quickly. He has proven week after week he can do just that. Unfortunately, I give the edge to the Detroit Lions. Mainly because Johnson has a freakishly high vertical of 43″ or so. Stafford’s pass can sail over all cornerbacks’ heads and Johnson can pluck it out of the air with ease. The Eagles’ secondary is week so I think Stafford will exploit that weakness.
