Today’s Weather Gives Eagles An Edge

Today’s game time forecast at Lincoln Financial Field calls for snow and 32 degree temperature. This will have a negative effect on both teams’ passing attack. Both quarterbacks have multiple weapons to deliver the ball to but if the snow is heavy it will affect visibility. It will also make the ball slick making it difficult to throw and catch at times.

So today will be a ground game extraordinaire. The Eagles’ run defense has improved since the beginning of the season. The Philadelphia Eagles outside Linebacker Trent Cole has become a force to be reckoned with. He along with the rest of the Eagles’ defensive line they will put undue pressure on Detroit Lions Quarterback Matthew Stafford. He will be forced to rely on Detroit Lions Running Back Reggie Bush to move the ball up field.

Bush has had limited success against teams with good run defense. Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Coordinator Bill Davis has proven his worth this season. Between him and Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Chip Kelly look for them to stifle the Lions’ run game.

The Philadelphia Eagles Running Back LeSean McCoy is the leagues’ leading rusher. Today he will be called on again to help deliver a victory to the home team. The Lions have a strong run defense as they have shown all season. But they have not faced a run attack from the likes McCoy. Detroit rarely plays in inclement weather. Today they will face a dual threat. Both of which they haven’t faced this season.
