2014 NFL Mock Draft: The Philadelphia Eagles Select...

Sayre Bedinger’s NFL Mock update has the Eagles going with Oregon Ducks’ corner back Ifo Ekpre-Olomu. Bedinger’s explains:

Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon. The Eagles have a terrible pass defense, and need a guy like this to fall to them in the draft. This is a pretty good year for corner backs, and some consider Ekpre-Olomu to be a top 15 talent. He’s 2nd on Oregon this season in both tackles and interceptions.

There is no change in direction from last week’s projection. My thoughts haven’t changed either. I will repeat my thoughts from last week. The Eagles need to put more pressure on the quarterback. Missouri Tiger’s Defensive End Michael Sam has been a breakout performer this season with 10 sacks. He also has 34 tackles with 16 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and one pass broken up. Sam returned a fumble for a touchdown in the Tigers’ upset win over Georgia. He dominated with three-sack games against Arkansas State, Vanderbilt and Florida. This is the type of production the Eagles need on the Defensive Line.
