To give full disclosure the “open letter” idea came from The Landry Hat website. The author had been a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys wrote an open letter to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. It solidified in me an idea I had been kicking around for a while. I will do my best not to ramble but I hope you, the greatest fans in the NFL, will read on and allow me to pay a tribute to you.

I became a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1980. My neighbor had moved next door to me, Rural Western North Carolina, and we became great friends. He was an Eagles fan and I ended up at his house September 14, 1980 watching the Eagles destroy the Minnesota Vikings. (I remembered the game not the date, I had to look that up.) I was instantly hooked. I watched in awe as the Birds had their way with the Vikings. I was 12 years old.

Two months ago I was approached to become the editor of Inside the Iggles. Of course I jumped at the chance and I will tell you why.
