2014 NFL Mock Draft: The Philadelphia Eagles Select...

This week we look to Eric Lambert’s mock NFL draft from NFLMocks.com to see who he believes the Philadelphia Eagles will pick for their first choice.  His pick is an interesting one based on the previous weeks where a corner back was projected. Lambert says,

Vic Beasley – DE – Clemson. Adding another pass rusher could only help the Philadelphia Eagles to continue building their defense. Vic Beasley plays defensive end at Clemson but has the body of an outside linebacker, not to mention the speed and explosion off the snap. He can create problems with his ability to change directions and use an effective bull rush.

Finally, a pick I can agree with. I admit last week I was leaning toward a corner back after the loss to the Minnesota Vikings. But I let my emotions get the better of me. I still believe the Eagles will benefit more from a solid pass rusher. To me that seems to be the one area that needs improvement that hasn’t that much this year. Clemson Tigers defensive end Vic Beasley could be the answer. Since Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Jason Babin was cut last year the Eagles haven’t had a threat in that position. Beasley could be just what the doctor ordered.

Oh, and Merry Christmas from the staff here at Inside the Iggles to the NFL’s greatest fans.
