Game time temperature was 25 degrees with a wind chill factor of 19 degrees.

New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles received the opening kick-off and ran it up the middle to the Saints 27 yard line. The Saints marched down the field to the Philadelphia Eagles 37 yard line. The Saints tried to draw the Eagles off sides at fourth down and two but New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees was charged with a false start so the Saints were forced to punt the ball away.

After two punts for each team the Saints were marching down field again. Until Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Brandon Fletcher intercepted a deep pass at the Eagles 3 yard line by Brees and ran it back 24 yards to the Eagles 27. Eagles take the ball down to the Saints 23 and face a 4th and 1. Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy runs for 8 yards to the Saints 15 for a first down. In an uncharacteristic play Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles takes an unnecessary sack for a loss of 11 yards when he could have easily thrown the ball away. His decision in my opinion, is the play that possibly lost the game for the Eagles. Philadelphia Eagles Alex Henry misses a 48 field goal attempt. It could have been a 37 yard attempt.

Saints move the ball down to the Eagles 13 yard line. What looks like a fumble by New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham is overturned by the officials. After another false start penalty the Saints they kick a field goal. The Saints draw first blood.

Saints 3, Eagles 0.

The Eagles look flat on the next possession and have to punt the ball away. Shortly afterwards Brees throws his second interception right to Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Demeco Ryans. The Eagles march straight down the field into the red zone and the Saints did something that is becoming a little suspicious to me. For the second time while the Eagles are moving the football quickly down the field a Saints player get “injured.” And the Eagles fans voice their opinion as well. The boos are deafening.
