2014 NFL Pro Bowl: Eagles Jason Peters Opts Out

The Philadelphia Eagles will only be sending two player to Hawaii this year. Philadelphia Eagles Running back LeSean McCoy and left tackle Jason Peters were both named to the 2014 Pro Bowl. For Jason Peters, this was his sixth selection to the Pro Bowl but he has elected not to participate in the game this year. Houston Texans Left Tackle Duane Brown will fill Peters’ spot.  Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Nick Foles, originally selected as a first alternate, will be joining Lesean McCoy in the Pro Bowl.

Pro bowl or not, Jason Peters has been spectacular this season. He is a large reason why the Eagles were able to run the ball so effectively all season long. Let’s not forget, this is only one season after coming off a major achilles injury that caused Peters to miss the entire season.

I guess Jason Peters is just not a big fan of the Pro Bowl. There is nothing more to it.

No word on the status of other Eagles alternates: Evan Mathis (second alternate), and DeSean Jackson (second alternate).
