For the 44th year, “The Committee of 101” in Kansas City will host the 101 Awards, in which 101 members of the national media who cover the National Football League vote to select the Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year in the National and American Football Conferences. Each winner will be presented with a trophy at the 44th Annual 101 Awards Gala, presented by ECCO Select, in Kansas City on March 1.
Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean “Shady” McCoy is named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year. This should not be much a surprise given the season he had. He led the NFL in rushing, where he won the NFL rushing title and set a single-season franchise record with 1,607 yards. Watching him in action is amazing. With his break-neck speed, mind-blowing cut-backs he made many a defensive player look silly. Thanks to PhiladelphiaEagles.com for the report.
McCoy is only 25 years old and is in the prime of his life and career. Let’s hope that he is just warming up for many years to come.
Congratulations, Shady. You earned it.
