Eagles Can Learn From Both Teams Playing Sunday

This Sunday is the Super Bowl in case you haven’t heard. The Super Bowl is a game that every football player dreams about playing in, but only a few get to even do. Both teams that are in the big game this Sunday are there for a good reason, they were simply the best. It is no fluke that the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl this year. Both were first in their conference. Seattle has the number one ranked defense and Denver has the number one offense.

So what can the Eagles learn from Seattle and Denver? Offensively, the Broncos dominated the competition this year. Namely because of their quarterback Peyton Manning. The guy is a football god in human form. If you ask Peyton what the key to his success is he would tell you it’s all about how you prepare. Preparation is most important in the mind of Manning, so it should be for the Eagles. Obviously Nick Foles in no Peyton Manning (yet), so he could take a page or two out of his book.

The Broncos offense is stacked with weapons at the tight end, running back, and receiver positions. If you ask me i’d say the Birds are right there with them talent-wise.

Defensively, Philly can learn a lot from the Seattle Seahawks, specifically the Legion of Boom. The Legion of Boom is the nickname Seahawks Corner Richard Sherman gave to the Secondary. Needless to say, the nickname fits them well. The members of Seattle’s defensive back unit are hard-hitting, smart players. They have a tremendous amount of respect for each other which, in turn, improves their play on the field by knowing they can count on each other. I believe the most important aspect of the Legion of Boom is their ability to strike fear in the hearts of opponents. In Richard Sherman’s case, the ability to talk smack and back it up. The Philadelphia Eagles need to put together a defense that is feared, similar to what they had in the past with Brian Dawkins.

If the Eagles can up there preparation  along with building a defense that the rest of the NFL is afraid of, than the Birds can make it to the Super Bowl easily. Well… easier.
