Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has an expiring contract this offseason that will make him a free agent in March. Vick is now 33 years old and has spent five seasons with the Eagles since being released from prison in 2009. With the success of second year quarterback Nick Foles this past season, the Philadelphia Eagles clearly do not have a spot for Michael Vick in the starting lineup.
Obvious character issues circulated when Vick first signed with the Eagles after serving a prison sentence for involvement in a dogfighting conspiracy. Not only did Michael Vick stay out of trouble during his five seasons with the team, but he also earned the respect of many doubters with great leadership qualities and work ethic among other positive characteristics. Vick showed tremendous maturity when many people thought he wouldn’t.
