Despite what appears to be a star-crossed career, it’s my belief that Jeremy Maclin should be a priority re-signing for the Eagles management.  Consistency is a strong-suit for Maclin when he’s on the field.  In 40 of  59 career regular season games, Jeremy Maclin caught at least four passes.  In two playoff games, both losses, Maclin produced 219 receiving yards on 10 catches and scored a touchdown.  DeSean Jackson surely would benefit from having another speedy receiver on the offense.  While Maclin might not be able to produce another 4.45 second 40 yard dash after two torn ACL injuries, his crisp route running and ability after the catch is a threat nonetheless to opposing defenses.  And while Riley Cooper was a red zone threat this season, you might forget that only six wide receivers had more red zone touchdowns than Jeremy Maclin in 2010.  Additionally, despite what appears to be an injury prone label, Maclin had only missed five games in his first four seasons prior to his ACL tear.

The signing of Jeremy Maclin to the 2nd ranked offense in the NFL (yardage) would be super news for Philadelphia sports fans on a weekend that features its own share of unrelated football news.  For right now, nothing official has been released from the Eagles nor from Maclin regarding a contract. Stay tuned with Inside the Iggles however as the Eagles have a propensity for sneaking big news under the radar.
