Eagles Sign Wide Receiver Joe Anderson?

Former Chicago Bears wide receiver Joe Anderson was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. Judging from his lack of experience as a wide receiver I am not sure the motive behind his signing. As a wide receiver he’s never caught a pass. Before anyone gets too excited it’s pretty likely he isn’t in place to replace Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin. At this point there isn’t a clear reason why he was signed on.

Unless Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Brad Smith isn’t working out. He got very little play last season. Maybe Anderson is Smith’s replacement. Who knows. Time will shed more light on this subject but unlike with Smith, I am not very excited about this move. With Smith’s reputation I could see the reason the Eagles signed him. But with Anderson, It is as clear as mud.
