So the question of the starting quarterback for the Eagles in 2014 has obviously been asked and answered. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles set the world on fire last year with the highest passer rating in the season, You know the rest. Impressive stats and an uncanny ability to read a play and decide in less than a second to lose yardage instead of making a desperate move. But there is a question I haven’t seen asked very often. Who will be Foles’ backup?
With Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick looking for a starting position he is likely as good as gone. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Matt Barkley had a decent completion ratio last season when he was called on. He completed 30 of 49 passes (61.2 percent) for 300 yards. Those numbers are actually pretty decent. However, he did throw four interceptions and fumbled the ball away in the red zone. In an article at ESPN.GO.COM by Phil Sheridan he makes his case for Matt Barkley. I am not convinced he will be a good back up. I think the Eagles would benefit from a veteran quarterback from free agency. What do you think?
