Mike Mayock’s Position Rankings Prior To NFL Combine

Jan 7, 2013; Miami, FL, USA; Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Ha

The NFL Scouring Combine is three days away. For many NFL hopefuls this is their last chance to shine before the draft. Mike Mayock has ranked the top five players for each position. There are a few interesting rankings that got my attention. The big one that stands out is Johnny Manziel isn’t his number one player. I tend to agree with him. I could be way off base but I don’t think he will do well in the NFL.

The two main areas of need for the Philadelphia Eagles are safety and defensive end. Here are the prospects for each.

Safety
1. Calvin Pryor, Louisville
2. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Alabama
3. Lamarcus Joyner, Florida State
4. Jimmie Ward, Northern Illinois
5. Deone Bucannon, Washington State

Defensive end
1. Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina
2. Kony Ealy, Missouri
3. Dee Ford, Auburn
4. Scott Crichton, Oregon State
5. Trent Murphy, Stanford

There are some good prospects there for the Eagles. Just about any one of those men would fit well with Eagles defensive needs.

PRYOR, GILBERT OR DIXON, Secondary is Key in the 1st Round an heck even the #2 if PHILLY Signs say D-WARE or SPENCER if they cut them but RESIGNING MACLIN is a #1 Priority.
