Eagles Sign Left Tackle Jason Peters Through 2018

Earlier today PhiladelphiaEagles.com reported they have signed Pro-Bowler left tackle Jason Peters to a new deal keeping him in Philly until 2018. There’s some good news. The Eagles know what they have in him. There were doubts he could bounce back from a re-torn Achilles tendon two years ago. But he did not bounce back, he roared back into All-Pro form. Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has big plans for him and his high-octane offense. Kelly’s thoughts on Peters,

There aren’t many people cut from the same cloth as Jason Peters. To be able to bounce back from two Achilles injuries and return to an All-Pro level speaks not only to his incredible athleticism, but proves just how hard he works at his game. Having him at left tackle provides a lot of comfort to our quarterback and to our entire offense. He’s a guy that many players look up to in our locker room.

As what we have seen in throughout the league lately, leadership is needed in the locker rooms. Peters fits that bill perfectly. And it appears Kelly is setting up for a multi-year run at the Super Bowl. Today, he just made another statement of how serious he is to finally bring the Lombardi home to Philadelphia.

I guess signing a left tackle is the proof we needed to know coach Kelly was serious about a Super Bowl run. Nice repeat article.
