In 2011 when the Eagles went hog wild in Free Agency it looked like the Super Bowl was theirs to lose. Then Young uttered the infamous words, “Dream Team.” Which turned into nothing short of a nightmare. It was so bad it cost former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid and his staff their jobs. Abysmal can be the only way to describe that season. Thankfully, the majority of those players are gone. Last season the Eagles had a miraculous season. And so far, the Eagles brass have decided to keep the family together.

But before “Dream Team II” stars circulating let’s make sure there is something to celebrate before we get too excited. Let’s at least sweep the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants before we start getting delusions of grandeur ourselves.

Free Agency should be interesting. Maybe the Eagles will bolster their defense with a pass rusher and a good safety. Then the pressure will be off for the draft. Grab the best player on the board and keep on rolling.

I like the article it’s so easy to see a couple nice moves by an organization and just say “of course we’re going to win every game” it’s a good point to stay grounded, remember we have a very tough schedule next year, while I think the teams we face next year could turn into a springboard that puts the league on notice, it could also do the opposite. And I think it’s a good thing to remember the dream team was only 3 years away. On a side note that article about maclin and the Eagles being very far apart. I believe that you commented after I poked fun at the author for it getting put up after the signing was done. I was only joking I know how news works my brother is a writer for huff post I’m sure the article was written hours if not a day before it was put up I was only kidding. So no need to get worked up. I love this site and the fact that the public really gets to give input. I think you guys have done a great job of growing and I only hope it continues.

Thanks for the comment, Ryan! We appreciate the vote of confidence and look forward to keeping the ball rolling on this site. It has been a lot of fun lately. I find it hard myself to keep calm. I figured I wasn’t the only one.

About the Maclin article: I got a little defensive for the writer because he scheduled it the day before I knew he could not change it before it posted. I tried to stop it from posting but I could not and felt bad. I am protective of my writers and felt it was my fault for it posting.

Now, I have a bone to pick with Adam Shefter. That cat obviously didn’t know what he was talking about when he tweeted just hours before the deal was done that the two sides were far apart. We are looking for other resources now! HA.

That made me laugh out loud. Seriously though I love the site can’t wait to see it during the season it is some serious fun.

O and make sure that writer knows that was all in good fun

  • Todd

Will do. He’s a pretty good sport. I think I got more defensive than he did over it. Stuff just rolls of Blaine.
