Well, I knew this day would come and have actually dreaded it for a while. CBSSports.com reports at least three teams could be interested in Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. Obviously he wanted to start somewhere but I wasn’t sure he could find a new home. I am starting to believe I was wrong. I am late to the party because several analysts feel that he will not be with the Eagles next year and for good reason.
As it stands right now according to ESPN Analyst Adam Schefter the three teams interested in Vick are the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and the Oakland Raiders. There could be more. The New York Jets are reportedly looking at quarterback Josh McCown also but they are leaning toward Vick. If the Jets get him he will most likely beat out quarterback Geno Smith for the starting position. That is probably his best option at starting.
So with the level of interest Vick is getting now it is clear he will not be an Eagle next year. I will miss him for certain. I love seeing a person pick himself up and fight to get back in the action. And if you can remove yourself from only focusing on Vick’s crimes against the dogs and his prison term; you will see a man who changed for the good. He came to the Eagles with a cloud over his head and with a lot of uncertainty. He was fresh out of prison, an Ex-Con. He’s leaving a changed man with class. Let’s, as Eagles fans, send him off with class. I personally wish him well.
