Are the Eagles Putting Too Much Faith In Nick Foles?

The Philadelphia Eagles may have been handling everything else with ease, but there looks like there will be one bump in the road, and that bump is the backup quarterback. As we know the starting quarterback for the Eagles is Nick Foles, with Michael Vick as the backup quarterback.  Being as though Vick wants to be a starting quarterback and is up for free agency, his time with the Eagles will most likely come to an end very soon.

With Vick moved out the way, that leaves third string quarterback Matt Barkley, who wasn’t the worst but far from the best. I want to cut him a little slack, but since this the National Football League you are expected to play at your best at any given time. Due to Vick and Foles having injuries at the time, Barkley had to step up to the plate for two games.

Since the Eagles had a good season, they have found their way back on everyone’s radar, which could be a good and bad thing. The good thing is being recognized for their hard work, but the bad thing is this now makes them a target, and if they find themselves facing a quarterback situation, then this could be a bad season for Eagles.

Foles was a Probowl QB this year (his 2nd year). Stop ripping the guy. Let’s just get a solid back up in free agency.

Not only was he a pro bowl qb but he was the offensive mvp. And the point that he will be getting more pressure is just crazy. Go ahead and blitz all the time the Eagles will continue to throw bubble screens and have foles go to his hot read like he did all last year. 2013 was not a fluke it was 11 games of consistent qb play which followed 6 games last year. The other teams had tape on foles and could not stop him. You should check out how the team not just foles responded to pressure last year from the play calling to the changing of routes by wideouts because the pressure was recognized by foles. And if you want to knock him for taking a couple extra sacks which I will admit he did why don’t you check how many picks he threw. While a sack hurts a pick is a game changer. O and I don’t know if you know this but nick is 6-6 250 lb and is never running in open field about to get nailed by a line backer which is exactly what Vick who is 6 ft 200 lb does all the time. It is also the main reason he can’t stay healthy for more than 5 weeks at a time. It is ridiculous to compare the two in terms of frailty. Apples to oranges

O and what type of nfl ready come off the bench and start winning games for us qb do you expect to pick up in the 3rd or 4th round. Really throw some names of these guys who you are proposing the Eagles draft out there. Please tell me who these guys are cause I don’t see them anywhere.

Just watch the tape, he’s the real deal.

You write this terrible article and then don’t defend it at all. Way to care about your job. BOOOOOOOOO

Hey Dr. Muon Funk, thanks for commenting!!! Not ripping the guy at all, like you I’m hoping we get a solid backup. I don’t believe putting all my faith in one guy after one successful season as starting QB in the NFL. I felt the same with Vick. No one is exempt from getting hurt in sports.
