For all intents and purposes it’s “All’s Quiet on the Eastern Front.” Not a lot of activity for the Eagles today. General Manager Howie Roseman is playing things close to the vest but one thing seems obvious. The Eagles want to add a safety or defensive end in Free Agency either because they want a veteran to teach their young squad or they don’t see a viable option in the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft. I vote they want a veteran to teach their young squad and don’t want to break the bank doing it.
The Bleacher Report reported early that the Eagles had an interest in former Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey. This is perhaps the least believable of the rumors today. Bailey is 36 years old and on the tail end of a very good career. He may have a couple of years left but he is definitely not the serious threat he once was. In today’s pass-friendly NFL there are an abundance of young, quick wide receivers. Don’t think the Bailey fits the picture. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is looking to build a young squad. No way Bailey is in that picture.
