There was a rumor yesterday the Eagles were looking to add another safety to the squad. This morning, a few minutes before 8 AM EST they quietly signed free agent safety and this year’s Super Bowl Champion Chris Maragos to a three year deal.
#Eagles have agreed to terms on a three-year contraat with safety/special teamer Chris Maragos, formerly of the Seattle Seahawks.

To my knowledge there was very little information about this transaction prior to this morning’s announcement. Maragos begins his fifth season with the Eagles, his third team. According to his stats there is very little to go on. In his four years as a pro he has only recorded 25 tackles, 0 interceptions, 0 points defended and 0 forced fumbles. That is not the kind of resume that would make you sit up and go, wow look at that guy. But Philadelphia Eagles Chip Kelly obviously sees something in him. Plus, Kelly is famous for making the players compete for their position. With a young guy like Maragos in the wings he may inspire Eagles safety Earl Wolff to push himself even harder.
Stay tuned for more updates as they come across the wire.
