The Philadelphia Eagles have started out with a strong steady pace with getting the team ready for this upcoming season. Recently this week free agency started allowing teams to try to sink their teeth into other players that they feel will help make a better chance for them to play in the Super Bowl. So for those of you who may have been busy or just out in space, I will be giving you a fast rewind of what took place this week.
This week the Eagles picked up former New Orleans running back Darren Sproles. Picking Sproles up was a sign of the direction the Eagles are taking, and I must say this is the right direction.
Patrick Choung was released from the Eagles. I must say I already seen this coming and I totally agree with their decision. On Tuesday former Seattle Seahawks backup safety Chris Maragros and Houston Texans linebacker Bryan Braman has been added to the Eagles roster.
Punter Donnie Jones was resigned to the Eagles for three-years worth 5.5 million and 1 million guaranteed. Former New Orleans safety Malcolm Jenkins have been picked up by the Eagles for a contract of $16.2 million with $8.25 guaranteed. Another good fit due to his ability to play more than one position.
Just yesterday the Eagles snatched up Cornerback Nolan Carroll of the Miami Dolphins. I think Carroll is another good pick due to his height and good stats with the Miami Dolphins.
Some fans expected more on the first day of free agency, but I say it’s only the first day and it’s better to stick to their plan than to just jump at everything that becomes available. Do you think the Eagles made the right moves on the first day?
