Amidst dubious trade rumors, the Eagles remain intent on evaluating draft prospects.
We might be talking about whether the Philadelphia Eagles want to trade DeSean Jackson or not, but there is a good chance that this is something that only the media and the fans occupy ourselves with. In fact, we have heard nothing official from the Eagles camp. Should this be enough to consider the whole story media-made?
A statement denying all that would be nice, but we don’t have that. We only know this: the Eagles do not pay much attention to this speculation.
Nor does Chip Kelly. With the 2014 NFL Draft less than 50 days away, the Eagles’ head coach wants to get a good grasp on this draft class. These last few days, he’s been travelling from one college Pro Day to the other.
Kelly was in Louisville on Monday, according to Jeff Greer, writer for The Courier Journal. The next day, Kelly was spotted at Florida State’s Pro Day and on Wednesday, Tony Pauline tweeted he heard Kelly was at Virginia Tech’s Pro Day:
I’m told Philadelphia Eagles HC Chip Kelly at Virginia Tech pro-day…Logan Thomas?

The next stop was in Missouri. Kelly was seen there today by Albert Breer, who reported that the Eagles’ head coach was the only head coach he saw at Mizzou’s Pro Day.
So Kelly and the Eagles are deep in the evaluation process for the upcoming draft. I’d say this is a much more beneficial activity than fighting rumors, even if these rumors are unsettling to some extent.
