Mark Sanchez To Sign With Eagles Today

According to NFL Insider with CBSSports.com former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez will sign with the Philadelphia Eagles today pending the outcome of his physical.

Sanchez had moderate success with the Jets during his five year tour but most will remember him for his infamous “Butt Fumble.” But that fumble isn’t the only thing that leaves many scratching their heads about this transaction. The last two years he played for the Jets, 2011 and 2012, he had 10 and 14 fumbles respectively and eight of those were lost each season. (He missed the 2013 season due to a shoulder injury.) That’s a lot of single handed turnovers for his offense to overcome. That’s a lot to ask of your defense.

But Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is a quarterback whisperer. If there is a list of people that can revitalize a quarterback’s career, Kelly is on that list.

I just don’t know about this move. Very few, if any USC quarterbacks do well in the NFL. Now the Eagles have two of them.
