Earlier today FoxSports.com NFL Editor Ross Jones reported UCLA Bruins linebacker Anthony Barr plans to visit the Philadelphia Eagles prior to the 2014 NFL Draft.
UCLA LB Anthony Barr has a busy sked the next two weeks. Barr will meet with Cowboys, Vikings, Steelers, Falcons and Eagles, per source.

This isn’t breaking news but it could be good news. However, I have scoured the blogs and NFL websites and have had a hard time finding a mock draft where Barr drops to 22nd. This is one of those too good to be true moments if there ever was one. Barr started his college career as a running back but after two years he switched over to linebacker. During two years at his new position, Barr tallied 149 total tackles, 41.5 tackles for loss, 23.5 sacks, 6 passes defensed, and 10 forced fumbles. Pretty good numbers and his size is ideal for the Eagles’ needs.
However, there is that small issue of the number 22 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. There have been rumors the Eagles could trade up to get him. But, those are just rumors and they don’t have a lot to bargain with. If I was a betting man I would say there’s no way they can nab Barr. Trading up is out of the question and him being on the board at pick 22 is unlikely as well. But….
As fans, we can always dream.
