In a recent report from KTAR.com former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was arrested in January for DUI. Boy, news travels fast these days. Just when you thought it was safe to brag about the Eagles lack of criminal baggage this little gem pops up. Obviously McNabb isn’t with the Eagles any longer but he will always be associated with the Eagles.
McNabb was drafted second overall in the 1999 NFL Draft out of Syracuse. At the time, few fans appreciated the decision but in hindsight it was nice fit. He led the Eagles to eight playoff runs and one Super Bowl in 11 seasons. He couldn’t bring the Lombardi Trophy home in his one trip to the Super Bowl but he had a storied career none the less.
According to TMZ he may have worked out a deal to only serve one day in jail. He has a hearing May 16th. This is a developing story and most of the details are sketchy. Needless to say this is an unfortunate incident for McNabb. I guess the silver lining is at least he isn’t directly associated with the Eagles any longer. They’ve had enough controversy lately.
