It’s several months from the first week of NFL Regular season and Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm is already mixing it up with his new division rivals. Recently he served as an analyst on the NFL Network he discussed his observations about each team in the NFC East. Philly.com reported some of his comments. He obviously doesn’t think they pose much of a threat. He commented that the NY Giants had not improved their rosters enough. He said Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had a reckless style of play.
The Dallas Cowboys did not escape his rather direct analysis.
A couple years ago, their scapegoat was Rob Ryan, and they got rid of him, and he was the cause of all their problems. He went to New Orleans and took the worst defense in NFL history and turned them into a top 5 defense. So he couldn’t have been the problem. And then you look at this year, I had the best seat in the house when I watched the Saints get 40 first downs in one game. Forty. In one game. So it must be the players. The offseason comes and you don’t do anything in free agency to get any big name players to come help you out, so I really don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel for this defense in improving when you got the same guys and the same coaches.
His directness is refreshing to read. I only hope the media can handle it and not “spin” it for more attention. No matter, Jenkins looks like he is going to fit in very nicely with the Philadelphia Eagles.
