Can Philadelphia Eagles’ Earl Wolff Improve on last year’s performance?
At this point we can only speculate that Philadelphia Eagles’ safety Earl Wolff can continue the trend he started last season. His rookie season ended abruptly with a torn anterior cruciate ligament or ACL during the game against the Green Bay Packers.
Wolff showed great promise in the first ten games of the season. In fact, the Eagles were almost giddy at their 5th round pick. During those ten games he had 45 combined tackles, five passes defensed and one interception.
At this point he is something of a mystery at the safety position. The Eagles acquired safety Malcolm Jenkins from the New Orleans Saints during free agency. Jenkins, a six-year veteran can mentor the young Wolff. With Wolff’s ability and Jenkins’ experience the two could be a much needed asset in the Eagles’ secondary this season. Especially now that they have to contend with the very dangerous Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson.
Look for Wolff to rise to the occasion this season.
