The Philadelphia Eagles added a pass rusher with linebacker Marcus Smith in their first round draft pick and tonight they added wide receiver Jordan Matthews. Questions still surround the Eagles’ secondary. This draft is deep with talent and the Eagles still have a few picks left. For their 86th pick the Philadelphia Eagles select Oregon Ducks wide receiver Josh Huff.
Huff could easily be a number two or three wide receiver for Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly’s high potent offense. He has great speed and big hands as well. With a 35.5 inch vertical jump you know he can reach up and grab some high passes out the air. In the 2013 season he had 61 receptions for 890 yards and 7 touchdowns. I guess coming out of Oregon didn’t hurt his chances either.
He doesn’t come without baggage. In 2012 he was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana, driving without a license and speeding. However, he was acquitted of all charges.
The Eagles traded their 83rd pick to the Houston Texans for a 4th round pick (101) and a 5th round pick (141) and only moved down three spots. Excellent move by the Eagles and at this point the more picks the better. They only started out with 6 picks in this draft and have used them wisely so far.
