The Philadelphia Eagles 2014 Draft starts day three with the first selection. After adding to the defense in round one and two wide receivers in rounds two and three the Eagles select Florida Gators cornerback Jaylen Watkins.

He has nice size and strength for a cornerback; he had 22 reps on the bench press drill. He ran a 4.41 40 yard dash so he will be able to keep up with most wide receivers. One of the many great things about Watkins is his versatility. During his college career he lined up as a cornerback, safety and a nickel defender. And he played on all special teams to boot. Hard to believe he dropped this far in the draft with his skill set but the Eagles will definitely benefit greatly from this acquisition.

The Eagles entered the draft with only six picks but through a series three trades they picked up a seventh pick. Today they have four picks total and there is still plenty of depth on the board the Birds to add to their squad.
