Philadelphia Eagles Take Care Of Their Own

It’s obvious the Eagles take care of their own. In a recent interview with Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin by CSNPhilly.com he elaborated on that fact. He talked about fellow Eagles defensive end Marcus Smith and how the team rallies around him.

Barwin seems to be impressed with Smith so far.

I obviously have been around Marcus the most. It’s been really good so far, he seems like a humble kid. … Me and Trent [Cole] have given him some advice, he seems to be picking up the defense.

As far as any trepidation Barwin may feel?

You know you’re on a good team when the best players teach the young guys how to take their job, and I heard that my rookie year and it really kind of resonated with me.

This is a good sign. It shows leadership. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has brought an infectious leadership quality to town. Under his leadership the players last season not only rallied around Kelly but each other. He’s a brilliant coach and we may have only seen a glimpse of what he is capable of. This will be the season where we see his brilliance shine.
