Time for round two. Philadelphia Eagles safeties Nate Allen and Earl Wolff are back at it again. They are battling for the open safety slot. Newly acquired Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins has already locked up the other slot. As it stands right now Allen appears to be the choice for the first squad.
Wolff played in his first professional game in week two and had seven tackles. He showed promise early and looked to replace a faltering Chung but he hyper-extended his knee in week 10 which in effect ended his season.
Wolff is still inexperienced but is super athletic. The upside potential for him seems limitless. Couple his athleticism with the experience he gets from Jenkins and Allen and the Eagles could have themselves an answer to a void left behind Eagles former safety Brian Dawkins. On a side note, anyone else still scratching their heads over the Eagles trading Dawkins? The Eagles took a step back defensively when they did that and have struggled since. Maybe Wolff could help them get back to that level again.
